An expanded cast of playable characters. Like the previous point, with the introduction of new characters in the world, new characters are able to be played. There are many more characters with the “Dark/Evil” characteristic which helps collect certain collectibles earlier in the game. When playing in Freeplay mode, you no longer have a severely limited rotation of characters. In the previous LEGO Harry Potter game, you had to go into Freeplay mode and cycle through your characters immediately to make sure you had everyone you need to gather the collectibles. This often meant that the random rotation didn’t include a character with Strength, Key, or the Dark/Evil characteristic, which meant having to restart that Freeplay level. In this game, you have a greater rotation of characters and I have not had to restart a Freeplay level yet in order to choose a character with the characteristics.
