When you return home, things are not going well and you realize that there is no one left in your town. You realize from the shadows that a mysterious creature is following you. You dive deep into the town and forest to track it down. You must try to fix them in order to solve various mysteries and gain an advantage against the creature. Each time you start a game, the creature’s behavior changes according to your actions. You can have a different experience every time you play. This is a nice game but it need a lot of work on every aspect of it. The game is extremely dark, you can only see with your flashlight and you are continuously looking for batteries. Bring more light and more batteries into the game! The sky is clear, it shouldn’t be this dark, not even at night. The shooting sound is also too loud. You basically won’t know what to do and where to go, if you interact with something in the area you won’t know what you did and why.
The game is still in early access and still has a long way to go to become a fully fleshed out game, but it has a lot of potential. If you are a fan of tense games this is exactly what you are looking for. the game has a dreadful atmosphere and the Cryptid’s hellish look only helps with that. the devs are super active in both bug fixing, interacting with the community via discord manly and adding content to the game. with each match you can experiment different approaches to how you move thru the map and what you do and try to get a different ending evert time. It also gets really crazy funny at times too. All in all I really enjoy this game and the challenges it comes with. You must learn the bunker’s layout to solve puzzles and progress, and even photographs hold clues if you scrutinize them closely.
Cryptid Direct Play:
Interactivity with the environment is enhanced, allowing you to manipulate objects to your advantage. The game encourages creative problem-solving, such as using cinderblocks to force doors open. Crafting traps or hurling grenades become tactical choices, but they require a methodical, slow approach. The tension mounts the farther you venture from your safe room, especially when you encounter giant, flesh-eating rats with reflective eyes in your flashlight’s beam. It explores themes of war and humanity effectively, even if some elements might feel slightly overused. For newcomers to the Amnesia series, this could serve as an excellent introduction, offering an intense, dark horror experience that can be savored in a single afternoon.
