Cyber Hook is a fast-paced, 3D platformer that has you using parkour skills and a grappling hook to scale and ride walls, while fighting enemies and blasting blocks with a laser gun. Another great speed running game. Tight controls, good music and great momentum mechanics. Overall a really fun time even if you don’t go for max speed. DLC is also a great set of levels. I can see why a lot of people didn’t like the end boss but I thought For disclosure, I contributed a few pictures for the game, but I am not part of the dev team, it’s just a little gift from them, just for being a fan – I mostly follow them because they are twin brothers, and some of the nicest devs I ever met. I also purchased my copy to support the project, which unfortunately is doing very poorly so far, and while I have a lot of small issues with the game, I still think it’s very much worth playing, in many ways like their previous game ‘Resolutiion’, flawed, but with a lot of hidden charm.
Cyber Hook Direct Play:
You don’t really need to play Resolutiion to fully experience this narrative, yes there are a few references, but as far as the main plot, it’s still up for interpretation, and playing Resolutiion really does not help all that much. Besides, these games are just so different in terms of atmosphere, for a long time I thought it was a joke. You can complete the game in about 6 hours, there is some content in terms of collecting various trinkets, I didn’t do most of the optional achievements, probably a few more hours on top of it. Personally, I was not very invested in the story for the first half of the game, I think some of the most compelling interactions happen near the end of the game, just like Resolutiion. I will say the ending surprised me, it’s definitely not what I expected, and I really enjoyed the final interactions between the characters.
