Danger Forever is 3D Shoot’Em-Up with RPG elements. Unlike most scrolling shooters, you fly through a 3D environment — use it to your advantage, and beware of bumping into walls or ground. Also, instead of traditional showering enemies with bullets, you must think ahead a bit – the fuel/heat system adds more depth to combat. Levels are procedurally generated; each level is slightly different every time you play it (but it’s not entirely random, of course). Energy and materials obtained during level playthrough can be used to upgrade and customize your dragon. You will need those materials and energy to build a spaceship to fight your way out of that hostile planet. Explore over 100 levels in 5 distinct regions The World map is procedurally generated, too. The world is ‘re-rolled’ each time you start a new campaign. Upgrade and customize your dragon Abilities and weapon modes are unlocked and upgraded for azure energy and materials earned on levels. Plugin chips (dropped from bosses) can be used to strengthen your dragon even more.
Challenge yourself on specially designed infinite ‘survival’ levels Your run on survival level is ranked on leaderboards. Most of the systems in game are easy to understand through intuition, but very few things are actually told. For example, how much ammo you have can in principle be seen by the brightness of the ammo pots on your bird. However if you want to get more info, you must land in a place where you could sell that ammo and compare the price you would get to the pots max value. Better to just shoot and reload as the need arises. The minimap gives some good information, but it also misses many crucial details, like where there are enemies, fish to restore health or rising winds to lift you.
Danger Forever Pre-Installed:
Graphics look nice, even really beautiful at times. However, barring few set pieces, the scenery gets repetitive pretty quickly and when you think about it, the somewhat low draw distance and ample clouds prevent seeing the grand vistas you might expect from a flying game. Also the characters remind me of runescape to a distracting degree. Fighting works once you get the hang of it, tough at the start on lower levels, it is easy to get swarmed and enemies on your tail can be a quick death sentence. There is variety in weaponry, but nothing really stands out and options for specialization or situational tools are limited.
