A pantheon of gods guides the heroes in their quest, each granting different powerful blessings. Destroy the thousands of minions of Death Face off and defeat the Guardians protecting each circle Discover ancient shrines, mythical creatures and the other inhabitants of the Underworld Choose from hundreds of god blessings to create synergetic and varied builds Collect randomized and unique items to make highly varied builds and ease your next attempts.
Increase your odds of finding lost relics, at the cost of empowering Death’s legions Attempt runs with a varied cast of heroes, each endowed with game altering traits Unlock unique and hard to access achievements I immediately fell in love with this game during the demo and was waiting for it to launch into early access to check out even more of it. I love the elements from Hades it has with a story being told over the course of your runs and deaths, plus your abilities and upgrades being doled out from various gods that are appearing to help you in your ultimate goal of killing Death. As you play thru runs, you’ll unlock more heroes to try future runs with. I’m not entirely sure what all the unlock conditions are for them, but so far I have the Knight, the Sorceress, and the Assassin. They each have their own set of equipment you can find and equip for them as well as their own base stats and types of attacks.

From my hour or so experience with the demo and another hour or so into early access, I’m really enjoying the feeling of Hades being blended with Halls of Torment into it’s own thing with this game. It’s really fun having my attacks and abilities altered based on what gods and abilities they have to offer me are. It feels like it adds that layer of randomized depth to the game that other survivors style games just don’t have and can’t have cause they really only offer you a selection of weapons to choose from and a preset upgrade path for them. Hades and this have rarities to the abilities and a means to increase the chance of higher rarity abilities showing up with better core stats and upgrade values in addition to a wider selection of overall abilities to collect and define your build each run. Plus having 2 dash charges right off the bat with each character and the different upgrades to alter how your dash impacts enemies is pretty handy for getting out of tight spots.
