Oh wow, this was an amazing Half-Life mod. One of the best mods for this classic game for sure. Feels a lot like the original game, in terms of gameplay, atmosphere and story. You play in a research facility, similar to Black Mesa, that also does similar experiments related to Xen. That’s pretty much the story. There are some hanging threads that don’t get much explained, but it’s not a bad story. The voice acting sounds a bit weird or hard to understand at some points, but that’s alright too. The new actors’ first language is not English, and you can always use the subtitles to understand them. Some old voice lines from the original game are also used frequently.
All the enemies are basically the same from the original game, for the exception of some robots and some new zombie variants. The weapons are quite similar too, but I like the few new ones in this mod, and I don’t mind that some from the original are missing. The gameplay, puzzles and fighting are also very similar to the main game, which is a good thing. Don’t fix what is not broken, I guess. Really fun to play through, in my opinion. They even made a better Xen section than the original Half-Life (even though that probably isn’t too hard). If you liked Half-Life, you’ll definitly like this mod too. The differences aren’t really anything bad, so it kinda feels like a DLC made by other devs, like Blue Shift or Opposing Force.

This is a really well made Half-Life mod, comparable to other expansions like Opposing Force and Blue Shift. While offering a completely new experience, this mod brought up the nostalgic feeling like playing Half-Life the first time. The atmosphere was very well done, I liked the rainny maps and asteroid’s rotating skybox alot. The mod also has new weapons and enemies, which were quite enjoyable to experience. Level design is very creative and I found myself traversing quite an unique map layouts and challenges, such as the space hurricane or radioactive asteroid. The sequences and voice overs are also redone to fit the experience. Despite all the praise the mod is not perfect, Diana’s monologues are someplace really cheesy and robotic,
