Demon Turf PC Game:
Spin, and long jump. Though there are some spotty jumps, most of the levels are designed in a way that lets me get to a sort of platforming zen where everything flows smoothly and I can land every jump. Definitely one of the most forgiving jump mechanics due to the addition of the drift spin and the long jump I feel. I played it with a keyboard and mouse. The combat is… serviceable. I appreciate that they tried to do something different beyond spin tail and kill thing, but it feels wonky, and the attacks themselves don’t feel impactful such as the charged hand. It doesn’t feel good as it drags the enemy along since you can’t tell if it actually hit or not until it explodes and you hear the hit register. For the artstyle, I dig it, like an earlier review mentioned, it has that DOOM mod platformer aesthetic going on, and it’s great. Since it has a lack of 3D models for your character, it instead puts a constant circle shadow under you so you can predict where you land. One issue I had is with the fog, is it supposed to be that awful? Sometimes the fog obscures everything and makes it horrible to see or if I’m lucky, just obscures the map but leaves outlines of the objects I can platform on.
