If you can’t afford this and are on the fence about it, go pick up the enhanced edition for free (for a few more days) and see if this is a game for you. I would recommend this to people who enjoy ridiculously difficult puzzles with goats and crossbow fingers.

This is a wonderful remastering of one of the great hidden gems of PC gaming. While it inevitably draws comparisons to the roguelikes from which it draws inspiration, I would consider it to be far closer to the Dark Souls of puzzle gaming. It is uncompromising and challenging, but ultimately perfectly fair. No information is hidden, you always know what the outcome of a decision will be In a nutshell, this game is identical to the OG Desktop Dungeons save a few things like some much needed balance changes and supporting newer GPU’s/monitors. Game is so much easier on the eyes if you own a large monitor compared to the old game and now we can even zoom in very close to our little heroes which just helps this aspect further. It really looks and plays well on newer hardware without losing the original charm of the first game.
