About The Game
Dolmen casts players onto a hostile alien world known as Revion Prime. Your job? Bring back samples of a crystal with particularly unique properties; the so-called “Dolmen”. These crystals are capable of allowing interaction between realities, revolutionising space exploration and changing the known world forever. DYNAMIC COMBAT In Dolmen you will grow stronger with each battle! Experience a rich combat system with various weapons and moves at your disposal. Switch natively between melee and ranged combat to overcome the most challenging enemies Revion Prime has to offer. Energy management is key to victory in Dolmen. Energy is not only used for ranged weapons, but also for activating “Energy Mode”. “Energy Mode” imbues your melee weapons with elemental status effects, letting you take full advantage of your enemy’s weaknesses.
A devastated, darkly beautiful world is waiting to be explored. Will you find all the secrets that Revion Prime has to offer? Or will this cruel world push you to the brink of death? you got 3 bars, two of which works as usual: health and stamina. then there’s energy. energy supports your ranged attacks, and refills automaticaly (slowish) or when hitting enemies with melee (faster, depening on your perks alot faster). you can also enter a special “mode” on button press (Y on pad) to get into energy mode, which lets you use your melee attacks ignoring stamina (and letting it recharge) but using energy instead, while also applying status effects and elemental damage. your energy bar only gets realy depleted when healing; to recharge spend energy you got energy-estus-flaks (4 to start with, but there are temporary ones in the levels). armor comes in head, chest, arms and legs, weapons can be dual wield, two handed, 1 handed, shields, handguns, sniper(ish), assault guns, shotguns, etc. there’s enough here to be fun.
you do not find loot, but similiar to Monster Hunter enemies drop materials. the moment you find the neccessary material for an item-recipe you can see the full recipe on board of your ship and having all the mats-> craft it and later upgrade it in the same process. when crafting each item got slots (saw now 1 to 3 slots, but there might be more), where you can also slot materials dropped by enemies, which come in different rarities and offer boni (more damage/defense, more attackspeed, etc.). so the system works less like a From game, more like a grinder (which is a good thing for this game in my book you got also the technologies-menue, which offers small and big passive boni (like a damage shield, or health league) depending on who’s gear you wear and how many parts (not neccessarly, gear has points attached to it). one tree is for human, the remaining 2 are centered on the alien races.
