We are nearly through the passage, the storm bites at our heels, and the crew whispers of blood and dark magic.” – Captain’s Log April 1847 Play with your friends. please i beg you only play with friends.. the game is awesome super fun and plenty of different ways to win or lose. due to the nature of the game it has become a trolls heaven. you start far out in the water that freezes you, everyone has coal to put in the boiler. the amount of times i’ve seen someone take the coal out and throw it in the water then leave the game stranding you in open water is staggering. half the time people will kill at random cause they don’t like you well you spent 30 mins looking for a game only to get killed in 2 mins and now sit locked in jail unable to play. also if youre the thrall(bad guy) theres 2v6 and its possible to win for a fact. more often than not the other thrall leaves the game and its 1v6 i can still win due to how many hours i have but yeah all it takes is someone to leave the game or troll for 60 seconds and the whole game is ruined.
This game is honestly amazing and deserves so much more recognition. Its obvious this game is a labour of love, and the dedication the team has put into this shows. The community though small, is loyal, and once you have a group you’ll never be lacking a group to play with. Everyone’s first question is, is thing among us on ice? The answer is, technically yes, but absolutely not. There is so much more to playing this game, more to discover, more to do, and more ways to play. Not only is playing crew in this game fun, but winning actually feels like it took skill. On the inverse, thrall has countless ways to play. With just three abilities you can innovate play, changing the experience every game for both you and your friends. On top of that, with eight different characters, everyone character is unique and has a place on the team, and makes the thralls betrayal all the more felt.
In my most memorable game I was granted the wonderful position of thrall. I pretended to gather resources while I fuelled my thrall battle station tent with poisonous covid vaccines and powder kegs. Came back to the ship and stuck a few people after they had just eaten meat that the chef cooked. Waited a few seconds and they all started throwing up, immediately blamed the cook and we all slaughtered him like an angry mob. Every time I left I built several totems and brought back supplies to put on the facade that I was a helpful crewmate.
