About The Game
DRIV3R , (stylized as DRIV3R) is a 2004 open world action-adventure video game. The vehicles in Driver 3 are based on real-life vehicles and are designed to behave as such, using realistic damage modeling (e.g., bullet holes appear when a car is shot, or if the car is hit from behind the trunk of the car will pop out Weapons are unnamed in the game, with weapons beyond the player’s initial weapon unlocked by completing mission or, in Take A Ride mode, from stealing them from police or other enemies. The comparisons with GTA are because in this game, you have an open world and you are free to pretty much do what you want. There are many different vehicles for you to drive as well as weapons to use and you can cause as much mayhem as you want.
The game features tons of missions for you to do as well. You have story missions that move the game forward, but there is also a nice amount of side content here. Granted, it is nothing like what GTA offers, but it is here. Let me say that I feel Driv3r could have been something special if it had more time in development. There are some great ideas here, but these are let down by some very, very big flaws that spoil the game. To start with the pop-in is just crazy. You can be driving along or running and then BAM a car comes out of nowhere, stopping you in your tracks. You can swim in the game, but do not as you can die instantly with no reason given as to why. The gunplay is one of the worst aspects of the game. It has a lock-on system, but it is like it will lock onto everything else before the target you want. In short, you have to work very, very hard, and be willing to overlook a lot of bad to see the good in this game.
