About The Game
The game contains flashes of light that can cause epileptic seizures. From the darkness is a first-person horror game that focuses on creating fear in the player. Most of the time you have to walk and explore the abandoned apartment of your deceased grandfather, to which you came for an old family album, but strange things begin to happen in the apartment, the one who lives in darkness will not let you go so easily. Your main task is to get out alive, but this can only be done by meeting face to face with an inhabitant of darkness. The game takes about an hour.

According to the plot, our hero returns to the old Soviet apartment of his deceased grandfather to pick up some kind of archive. All the paraphernalia is in place: vodka and a stick of smoked sausage on the table, Golden Star balsam, and a carpet on the wall. And as soon as we find him, the devilry begins to happen, which wants to play with us and says not the way. Almost the entire game takes place in this cursed apartment, we solve simple riddles and hide from the demon. The screamers are really scary, if you play at full volume and at night, then in general a paragraph, – the heart is provided. The graphics and rendering of the monsters are not bad.
Why? Well, the missions, while they have a lot of great “you can play it your way” design, don’t feel as expansive as levels from the other games. They also reuse one of the levels (changing up events and other things within it, but exploring new layouts is part of what I like about this game), and they reuse one of the levels from DH2 — although, again, it ends up feeling noticeably smaller in scope… as such D;doto is a more focused experience… maybe even a good entry point to the series for some people I won’t spoil the story, but I will say they attempted to put a close on the series — although not in a permanent way, but they try to close out the main storyline (as the name of the title expects “Death of the Outsider”) Emily/Corvo’s arc is resolved, and this story focuses on Daud’s/Billie’s. Personally, I didn’t exactly like it, but I didn’t hate it…
