Gift Collector [ギフトコレクター] – this is a New Year’s horror game from the first person, in the Japanese style and genre of walking simulator.Every year, with the beginning of winter, you begin to receive a large number of letters. These letters are children’s rays of hope for a miracle. You often read a lot of unusual stories and wishes in them. And you need to make each of these wishes come true On New Year’s Eve, dreams come true, no matter how you behaved last year. Because of this, both children with diligent behavior and those who did not do the best things receive their gifts.
Having played hundreds of indie horror games, I can safely say this is one of the scariest games I have ever played. The pacing was anxiety inducing, and as with most things by Notex, Alesska, and Admia – the game HITS! Jumpscares made me crap myself. This game has a cool atmosphere even though the ending anticlimactic. You’re basically Santa interacting with certain objects to progress the story. There’s only one real puzzle and it’s not at all difficult but there’s the exploration element. You can’t die and it’s only worth playing for the weird vibes it gives off.

The gameplay loop is satisfying, great game just very buggy my character wont stop going to the left so hes basically drunk and when i made it to the first house and gave a present i got trapped and couldnt move really good game i have seen the entire play thu but just a few bugs weird thing is that i havnt seen anyone else have these maybe it was the update? is pretty freaking awesome. I don’t know what’s up with the aspect ratio. It’s not any standard size as far as I can tell. But other than that, and the bug that kept me from playing the game the first day it came out, and it being a little confusing at times, I have nothing bad to say. Scary, beautiful, decently optimized, an all around good time. I’ll probably add this to my annual Christmas horror game list.
