Football is all about fun and teamwork. It doesn’t matter if you’re on the field or play it on console sitting with your friends on the couch. Golazo boldly recalls the glory days of the arcade soccer games, bringing back memories of cult classics we all know. With its vintage, not-too-serious, artistic and creative modern approach to classic gameplay, Golazo is certainly a perfect game for people who are weary of football managers or complicated hard-core simulators. You just grab your pad, sit on the couch and play! Anyway I grew up playing International Soccer on the C64, and this captures that vibe albeit with better graphics and play reminiscent of early FIFA titles on PS1/Xbox before they became another EA cash card – hunting whale skins. Good play and probably better with friends. Only thing letting it down is the inability to save the game in the middle of league or tournament style play.
It is the type that makes you feel interested but not for long. After a day or two, you may feel like playing another match just to get bored quickly again. That being said, this is not a bad game. It caters for people with a fast pace of life and having relatively little time for gaming while just wanting to relax for a little bit fun game to play with friends. The game includes various different courses – each with their own theme, layout and aesthetic. Workshop maps submitted by other players allow virtually infinite replayability. You also have a nice variety of customization options for your golf ball: toppers, trails, skins and much more.

These talents vary from new effects to new attacks that further change up the combat. You will also acquire plague weapons for you to choose from and upgrade by re-battling certain opponents. Once again, your gameplay style can change depending on what you choose. You may need to change your talents or plague weapons before a boss to better compete with it. The level design is genius too. There are only 3 levels but you go through all of them multiple times to do “side quests”. They start you off at different parts of the level and the level itself changes in many different ways so you have different paths available to you for each sub quest.
