Gunvolt Chronicles Luminous Avenger iX Direct Download
Get ready for the apeX of 2D action!” Lock-on shots, wall jumping, hovering, air-dashing. Use every tool at your disposal to soar through levels and crush the bosses that await you. Acquire “EX Weapons” from defeated bosses to expand your arsenal! Experience high-speed, stylish action like never before. Inti Creates presents the ultimate in classic 2D action with “Luminous Avenger iX”! After beating the game, I can say with absolute certainty that this is a must-have game for action platformer fans. The gameplay is fantastic, of course. It’s fast paced, action packed, and trying to stay in the air as long as possible to rack up points makes it even more fun. It’s basically Megaman X on steroids. The game’s length is rather short, you should be able to beat the main story in just a few hours. But getting S+ rank on all stages and score attacks should take much longer to complete. The story was good overall, and while you don’t need to play Azure Striker Gunvolt 1&2 to follow it, some parts wont have the same impact if you haven’t played the other games.
As for difficulty, stages feel somewhat easier than they were in the previous two games. Copen’s EX weapons feel a lot more powerful than the ones he had in ASG2. On the other hand, bosses seem to be harder, as their patterns are tougher to avoid, and more bosses have attacks you can’t prevade. But even beginners to the series should be able to beat the game with a bit of practice. Gunvolt Chronicles: Luminous Avenger iX is not a traditional Mega Man game, but then again, no Gunvolt game is. Every Gunvolt game has the same problem, an over-focus on a chain score system making the levels a total cakewalk with only slight spots of challenge unless you play for score where perfection is rigid, demanding, punishing, and basically involves a lot of restarts. The difference is you’re not playing as Gunvolt this time. You’re playing as Gunvolt’s nemesis Copen. Copen’s score system is just incredible stupid fun compared to GV’s utter trash score system. (Plus Copen’s score system is not tied to GV’s awful material farming system insisting you play 10 hours of repeated levels to get a double jump and way more for a triple jump+double air dash.
Gunvolt Chronicles Luminous Avenger iX Pre-Installed:
Copen’s gimmick is that he air-dashes a lot. If he collides with a wall, he regains an air-dash and bounces off at a 45 degree angle. If he collides with an enemy, he bounces off, regains an air dash, and hovers in midair, allowing him to lock onto that enemy and fire a bunch of projectiles like he is a Macross mecha at them. The chain mechanic challenges you to do as many of these kills as possible without touching the ground and without getting hit. Score well, and your loli companion will sing an idol song for you while you play as long as you keep that chain smoking hot. (Yes, this remains a series of edgy cyber boys fighting evil genocidal megacorps with mutant cyber super powers amidst the apocalypse, death, and betrayal while lolis sing as you fight So these boring Gunvolt style levels are not actually there for you to platform, they are there for you to pinball around, airdashing and bouncing like a madman. You zip around, utterly disrespecting any notion of platforming. Spikes and a moving platform? Nah just fly through it. This never gets old.
