About The Game
Haydee” is a hardcore old-style metroidvania mixed with modern-day third person shooter and platformer mechanics. You will controll Haydee – half-human, half-robot character in search of her way out of strange artificial complex full of traps, pain and depression. No casual stuff awaits you. There is no “X to win”. Your gun, your instincts and your logic are your only friends. Don’t drop your guard, conserve ammo and collect items on this long journey. Be vigilant, be sharp, be ready. Be good. Be Haydee. The game feels kind of scary too. The VERY limited saves makes you actually fear death, the lack of music and sanitized aesthetics are super oppressive and actually makes it feel threatening when you come across an area that’s actually run down. The enemies (all 2 of them) are simple but well done, and really do feel threatening in the early game when you’re not swimming in ammo. Adding to this threat factor is the corpses of other Haydees strewn about, which also sets up an air of mystery. There’s nobody else in this facility except you and an army of mute robots that want you dead. Why are you here? What is this place? Am I really playing this game for the plot or am I just horny?
The parkour is pretty mid though, and is 100% an excuse to show off the jiggle physics. At least half of your time will be spent slowly and carefully navigating parkour courses. But there’s something that feels right about the slowness, if it were nonstop action this genuinely would be just another porn game. It only gets tedious when you have to do it over and over because you keep dying anyway, so it’s not a dealbreaker. The sense of exploration when you discover a new area is just so good, I can forgive the rampant horniness. The quality is consistent throughout, for better or for worse, so if you don’t like the first 2 hours you won’t be missing anything if you refund it. Also if you’re scared of someone walking in on you while you’re playing there’s workshop support. There’s a small collection of SFW mods, so you won’t have to explain to your friends and family that you’re playing a porn game for the gameplay.
