This game was actually pretty damn fun, it being non-linear made me happy as that’s what i’m looking for in a Hello Neighbor game. However, as much as i had fun it was overshadowed by bugs. Constantly my hands would become helicopters and i would get flung out of the map and at one point I even soft locked myself because of a lack of invisible walls keeping me in my area that I was meant to be in. I enjoy the story but the ending and bugs kinda made me mad. So what happened? Well, the first thing is that I jumped across a ledge into the other side of the yard. Little did I know this would completely block off progression. The other game-breaking bug I faced is that the bowtie went missing (despawned) after I had found it. So I had to restart the whole game twice. Not fun.

However, despite those issues, I continued playing because I was having a blast. The creepy neighbor’s house is fun to explore because of all the secrets. There are hidden passageways, hiding spots, & tricks to navigate around for the observant eye. There are 4 kid characters with special abilities, one has a bat, another a sling shot, another a flashlight, and then one with a magnifying glass. They are each in different areas of the house and you have to figure out how to make them work together while the creepy neighbor is out looking for you. It’s got a great atmosphere. There isn’t much of a story, but through the actions in front of you & environmental story-telling, you can sort of piece it all together. There is tension throughout. Game is running on the Unreal Engine. On my RTX 3080, I was getting mostly 90 fps, but I did have frame rate drops here and there.
