Hexia is a fun and relaxing, hex-based kingdom-building game. There are multiple objectives that you’ll need to complete for each “phase” in the campaign and there are plenty of upgrading and downgrading as you go. The game is still a work-in-progress – hence, the early access tag – and currently has only a single campaign. The game does offer a nice/sufficient variety of events and tile types I think, though more variety isn’t too bad of an idea either. I’ve also managed to complete the single campaign in my first playthrough so I think the game isn’t exactly very hard to play. You’ll probably need a dash of luck along with a strategic plan as you expand your territory and respond to events. Oh and quick tip – it’s also good to not drain your currency down to zero or a pitiful amount every time you expand…
Hexia Direct Play:
You know, in case you urgently needed the cash It’s just too slow to move around the map using WASD or the arrow keys. It would be awesome if we could just right click and drag to move the map around. Also, since the game looks 3D (I think?), you can let the player rotate the map using the (right) click and hold function too! It’d be nice for screenshots and whatnots. There are plenty of moments in the game where I just sit back and stare at the screen. Granted that the game has some elements of idle gameplay, I, and I’m sure many other players, would love it if the time could go by a lot faster. It’s not that the button is too small or anything like that. It’s just that – and you can see it in my playthrough video – there are times when I wanted to upgrade a tile only to accidentally expand a tile instead. It’s not a major issue I reckon but it can be quite annoying.
