Highfleet is the combo of two distinct games in a sense: You have a tense, strategic game where you direct a air guerrilla war by launching lightning raids on enemy cities, sneak past powerfull strike forces, attack supply convoys for loot and try to locate enemy carriers and long range missile launching ships to destroy them before their deadly payload can be used against you. Then as soon fleets clash you have a deadly, fast paced shooter game where one of your ships engage up to three enemies, here quick reflexes and good aim can make the difference between victory and having half of your vessel blown up by an AP shell striking the main fuel tank. Against all odds the fusion of these two games create a great combo that fill a niche that no one knew existed but really deserved to be filled.

Beware though, if you are a fan of only Action or Strategy then you might want to steer clear from this game, i still remember the threads right after release where strategy gamers not used to fast action complained how they liked the strategy layer, but hated the Action one, also this game has a fair amount of slavjank, with stuff like some of the components have vauge or blank descriptions with their functions able to be understood only by reading a guide, and a tutorial that doesn’t really explain important mechanics like Electronic Warfare and Air Ops, so read a spoiler-free guide before playing.
