About The Game
Harvest materials using tools and creature abilities, and build workshops that can create and assemble resources. All of these materials will come in handy to truly customize the island to your liking, and uncover its mysteries. Your hamlet, starting from dilapidated ruins, will grow to become your base of operations on the island. After waking up on a bizarre island, you will meet mysterious statues and curious creatures. Bond with these creatures, and harness their unique and interesting abilities to explore deeper into Ikonei Island. my first 20 h of gaming, and i do love this game. love exploring island and fight those bad creatures. reusable sources of stones, iron and all gems is helpful with crafting. if comes to gardening, i wish to be a little bit more veggies and fruits. love the map and the system of travelling. Idea of summon and bond with animals is very smart. Will be there more animals in future update? will house will be added too? Would be an amazing to have access to dive and explore sea and lakes for the crafting stuff. i need to admit in the beginning i found difficult to figure out how to craft paste and dye lol, hope in the near future it will be added information what is needed to craft things. Looking forward for new updates.
I definitely do NOT recommend this game but it is, without bias, worthy of a positive review. There is fundamentally nothing wrong with the game and the price for the quality is pretty fair. It doesn’t carry the storyline of an RPG or the lore of a Dark Souls, but there is something here and there by the whispers of frogs. Its more a question of – Is this game worth your time? I didn’t find anything engaging and at no point was i excited to keep playing or wanting to continue. The most exciting thing was obtaining mech parts, thinking i’d rebuild a mech and be able to enter and control it. I would rather have played that game. I’ve never been a fan of Creature Capture games but Ikonei adds a unique-to-me twist. You have your basic hammer and axe for small rocks and bushes. However, in order to get the advanced tier materials you’ll have to rescue some captured creatures that you can then ‘possess’ in place of your character.

As you ram down rocks and axebeak trees, your creatures will experience their way to a higher ‘level,’ allowing you to ram and axe higher tier rocks and trees. Basically – Instead of learning recipes and crafting advanced tools, you’ll utilize, and only utilize, the creatures you’ve rescued. Also, if you look into this game and think, ‘It looks like it would be nice and relaxing to fish up all those fishing points in the water!’ There are no fishing poles – you’ll have a creature that can dive into the water at the proper time and pop out with a bounty of various items. While there is no traditional fishing tool, you can embody a bee type creature and pollinate various flora – Can’t state i’ve ever had that adventure before. I went the span of the EA game without having to literally farm until the very end. Most of what you need to upgrade can be found or collected from a resource point. It’s also not a very grindy game and you can pretty much get what you need while exploring the island. I ended with far too many items that i won’t be using. If you want to play multiplayer so that you can share your disappointment with a friend, it’s not out yet but slated for a later date.
