It started confusing, and got even more confusing when I met someone who looked exactly like me. He directed me to all the secret locations, I first thought it was an AI that spawned to guide me because I’m completely lost. The more I play the more I can’t tell if this is an AI or a real person. I thought, “if this an actual AI, it certainly passed my Turing test.” Slowly I’m starting to have an emotional connection with this stranger. Unfortunately after awhile I got 3D motion sickness from this game as I’m playing it around 15fps (I know, Thinkpad is not a gaming laptop). Closed the game and google told me that the companion is actually real people! Came back later and beat the game, met 2 other people along the way, one ignored me, the other helped me a lot too.
This is the most heartwarming experience I have ever experienced from the game I so have wished I played when it first came out on PS4, but I didn’t. I have again and again ignored this game from sales and ignored the possibility to even buy and play this masterpiece.I have met people along the journey to finish this game, and you meet all of them randomly, but you can interact, lead or help each other, making both of your lives a joyful and helpful. I am struggling with depression and often breakdowns, and today, I decided to play this game. After this game, it have left me emotionally broken in a positive way. Instead of sad and depressed, I was filled with joy and happiness in tears. Touched by the art-style, touched by the company by strangers on the journey, helping along each other.
