Jurassic Park Classic Games Collection Video Game Explore Isla Nublar in each of these releases, recreating the excitement and thrills of the historic franchise. Play as Dr. Alan Grant, or in some releases as a Velociraptor, as you collect eggs, survive dangerous local wildlife, restore power to the park and collect new weapons and eventually escape! Re-experience these classic games in one collection. Return to the park and ENJOY YOUR STAY! Just dipped in a bit to see how everything works. Only tried the 8-bit, 1st Genesis and 1st SNES games. The 1st SNES is a particular favorite of mine since I was a kid. Really unique game that hasn’t quite been done like it since. A isometric action platformer mixed with an FPS for indoor areas. Now, I didn’t have Doom or Quake at home, I had JP. Was probably my first FPS on console. LOVE this game. This port is about 95 percent there. Music is still amazing and sounds great, the addition of the rewind, instant save games and a map are great quality of life stuff.
Ocean, a Manchester-based game publisher, was a player in this game. While they spent the 1980s making games based on TV shows and movies like Miami Vice, Top Gun, and Highlander, their Jurassic Park games stood out. A new collection from Limited Run Games now gathers Ocean’s NES, SNES, and Game Boy versions of the 1993 film, along with the sequel Jurassic Park 2: The Chaos Continues and two Mega Drive tie-ins by Bluesky Software: Jurassic Park and Jurassic Park: Rampage Edition. That’s a dino-sized dose of nostalgia—seven games worth. Let’s be real: none of these games were considered mind-blowing back then. The original NES Jurassic Park is a top-down shooter where you collect ID cards and eggs, shoot prehistoric creatures, and try to escape the island. It has moments from the movie but is essentially a prettier version of the 1985 arcade hit Commando.
Jurassic Park Classic Games Collection Pre-Installed:
Jurassic Park: The Chaos Continues is an okay run-and-gun platform shooter with some cool cinematic scenes, but at the time, it felt like every game was a run-and-gun. The Mega Drive titles were platform adventures influenced by games like Flashback and Another World, with smooth character animation and a cinematic narrative style. You can play in fullscreen or the original display ratio, and there are platform-specific filters—CRT scanlines for consoles and a dot matrix style for Game Boy. Limited Run added new on-screen maps for those who don’t like wandering around a dinosaur enclosure aimlessly. The only letdown is the absence of a museum section with info about the original games and maybe some pictures of the packaging and ads. Limited Run did include a booklet with the physical copies, but those are all sold out.
