You’re going to have so much fun on this, I’m stoked for all the newbies. I wish I could go back and start as a new player to fall in love with this title all over again, but all I can do is try to lend a hand to people who haven’t tried yet themselves.
To try and keep it short.. I do recommend it only if you’re willing to invest some time into learning the game – from the mechanics, the loot system, the crafting etc. I just recently found out you can rinse off your clothes if they get soaked from the rain or swimming which helps prevent you getting sick, and simply just being able to wash your hands when they’re bloody so you don’t get sick when you eat and so on. I like DayZ for what it is, I have a different appreciation towards video games and there has been moments where I just say “wow this is beautiful” or have my heart beating out of my chest because I’ve came across a group of other “survivors”.. Games like this aren’t for everyone. Not just DayZ but open world survival games. I’d rather play alone most the time than with a group unless they’re willing to not use Discord and actually use the walki-talkies in game.
KFZ Pre-Installed:
I love this game to a fault, I’ve seen it go from being a Mod on ARMA 2, to this full-fledged survival-of-the-wittiest for years. It has many unique bugs that can (and do) render it difficult mentally to play and can be extremely frustrating when you can’t do anything to fix them. I personally disagree with the engine they chose as this game’s foundation but I’ll take what I can get! I mostly play modded versions, and prefer PvE and the open sandbox feel of this game. The occasional threat of another player is nice and keeps things interesting, but it’s not all this game is about. The natural threats like illness, wolves, bears, all make this game just as fun to play solo as it is in a 60/60 PvP server.
