About The Game
Knight Swap is a minimalist puzzle game based on the old chess problem of swapping knights on a board. The goal in each level is to move the white knights to where the black knights are placed (and vice versa) using the features of the board. There are a few levels where you can’t really backtrack with certain moves, so you need to actually plan things out. This is especially true in levels that feature switches. A cursory glance at Knight Swap gives the impression of a simple game. It’s just taking two chess pieces and swapping places, right? Next thing you know, you’re flipping parts of the board, teleporting, and jumping across steps in purgatory. This game is easily worth it, and while I haven’t played the sequel yet, it looks like it gets even crazier.
Knight Swap Pre-Installed:
Two knights and their countrymen must overcome their racial differences as they are forced to rule over each other’s kingdoms for a fortnight. Will they recognize similarities between their goals, mindsets, behavioral patterns, abilities, and more, or will they focus on the differences and fail miserably? I found myself rarely getting frustrated despite some puzzles being on the more tricky side. Balanced progression with escalating difficulty. Puzzles design generally avoid pitfalls found in other titles such as being overly large/complex boards or having too many moving pieces which makes these solutions less brute force & more skill based. Look & feel may be like other disposable puzzle games on Steam, simply with a Chess-like rule set this time, but it’s not too bad for the asking price.
