Snake x Bullet Hell = A New Take on the Classic Experience! Grease up your arrow keys and stretch your fingers! Maneuver the Crawler through the enemies’ barrage of attacks and collect Data Points to deal damage! Gain special chips to enhance the Crawler as you progress, overcome intense Boss battles, and uncover the secrets of their program world… Last Command” takes inspiration from the classic game “Snake,” but adds two additional actions, “Dash” and “Analyze.” Make good use of these new actions to dodge attacks and collect “Data” generated in the levels to inflict damage. There are numerous, non-repetitive battles, each with their own unique style and attack pattern ranging from dazzling screen filling barrages to obstacles that wish to overwhelm you. Each one will be a test to your ability to respond to various difficulties.
Modules can be found throughout the game and grant a variety of special abilities. Combined together, they can create a “Resonance Effect,” granting unique and stronger bonuses. Find the best combination for your playstyle! 3 hours in and the game shows an incredible amount of promise, challenge, wit, variety, mechanics, customization, and quality. I have encountered no bugs or glitches, no hard stops or artificial difficulty, and have seen only a single misspelled word in a module description. The character dialogue is engaging, the music is AMAZING and has felt reused or abused thus far, in a single fight there can be a huge amount of variety hype and there are A LOT of different fights. The combat is rewarding and handles really well, as you get used to the speed and techniques of speeding up slowing down with trial and error.
Last Command Pre-Installed:
Very much a play model that allows the player to grow and improve with their own skill versus simply increasing numbers or stats to ease difficulty. A great bullet hell game with a great selection of bosses to fight against. The expert difficulty was quite challenging (6ish hours for the final boss), and considering there was a difficulty worse than that, even vet bullet hell players are sure to be sweating. The damage mechanic is great, and is better than the typical “hold x to fire” of games like Touhou. The story was good enough, and is enjoyable, but nothing too exceptional. Pick it up if you like bullet hell games, even if only moderately.
