It’s about TIME! Join your favorite Super Heroes and Super Villains from different eras and realities as they go head-to-head with the time-traveling Kang the Conqueror in the all-new, original adventure, LEGO® Marvel Super Heroes 2! Play as the Guardians of the Galaxy, Spider-Man, Thor, Hulk, Black Panther, Captain Marvel, Doctor Strange, Green Goblin and dozens of other Marvel Super Heroes and Villains in this cosmic battle across the time-tossed city of Chronopolis! Travel across lands — from Ancient Egypt to The Old West, Sakaar and New York City in 2099 — and transport objects or characters through the centuries! And, with new battle modes, friends and family can play against each other in a series of themed challenges and battle arenas! The strengths for the series is the humor, content, somewhat simple mechanics and a formula that hasn’t really changed since the first couple of titles. This formula that hasn’t really changed is both a pro and con and I’ll explain later.
For this title specifically and compared to its predecessor, the content it brings is wonderful, the roster is done well (story mode completed at the time of this writing, still needing to free play it to 100%). I read another review here saying the plot was different than the first and wasn’t as strong of a plot – at this point I have to agree. Though throughout the dialogue and things still had their humorous points. I’d have to say the cons are what remains consistent in all the lego games: Camera tries to adjust automatically for you but is restricted. FOV isn’t great and not adjustable. Auto targeting can be frustrating at times. Blocks that were destroyed take time to disappear and can slow things down. Cutscenes are weird, you can sometimes be attacked but can’t do anything to retaliate. Theres a few more I’m not remembering right now but can cause a lot of frustrations. Bugs. Random missions and side things just don’t trigger when you met the requirements.
