The bosses are difficult, unique, but mechanically fair. Some fights will feel unfair, but for the most part it just means that the player needs to get better at parrying or use the appropriate gear. The game encourages you to venture off the beaten path, uncovering hidden treasures, lore, and challenging optional bosses. This sense of discovery fosters a deep connection with the game’s world and mythology. Through different collectible items, you get glimpses of the past and audio recordings from the now-extinct civilization. A civilization that’s just a few tens of years into the future from our present, but a few hundred years into the past in the game’s timeline. You play as an outcast of your tribe, without any knowledge as to why that is, you’ll go on a journey to find out why that is, as well as search what happened to the past world, how and why it happened, and how to stop it from happening again.

Furthermore, there are a lot of readable bits of story and context if you want to dive deeper into it. The gameplay and combat are good overall, but they do have some negatives. The weapon diversity is welcomed and every different one is good in its own way, You’ll find a use for each one and, although you’ll probably choose one as your main weapon, you’ll get some use out of the rest as well. However, with the equipment also comes the biggest minus, all of your weapons and outfits, with a few late-game exceptions, are bought from merchants. Not rewarded from quests, or found exploring the world. This makes quests feel less rewarding, and you’ll have the best possible equipment rather quickly.
