What is Kinetic Novel? A new form of entertainment for the sole purpose of storytelling — not a novel, not an anime, not a game — Kinetic Novel. Made with the goal of providing the reader with an unprecedented sense of presence and empathy for the characters through the use of a high-quality scenario, graphics, music, and other production values. LOOPERS is a kinetic visual novel developed by VisualArts/Key and published by VisualArts. You take on the role of Tyler, a high school student who is enjoying his summer vacation by engaging in his favorite activity, geohunting. Geohunting is treasure hunting, but you use a smartphone app that helps you to locate certain caches. Anyway, Tyler is engaging in this activity when he runs into two old elementary school friends, Hilda and Leona. After a brief reunion, Tyler tells them that he’s going geohunting, and Hilda and Leona tag along.
Their mission is successful although Hilda notices a sort of ghost or phantom while they’re out. The three friends depart afterwards, and then certain other events play out. However, here’s the kicker. Before Tyler or Hilda realize it, they discover that the day they’d just played out, August 1st, has suddenly repeated, with most of the events on the first August 1st they went through having been reset, like they never happened. When Tyler and Hilda meet up and they realize what’s happening (with the others around them not seemingly affected), they go off to investigate this anomaly, and that’s when they learn that they’re in a temporal spiral. Before I go way too much into spoiler territory, especially since this is kinetic novel, I’ll end my story synopsis here.
LOOPERS Pre-Installed:
LOOPERS is a linear novel, so there are no choices presented. The story consists of a prologue and 16 chapters. There are Steam achievements tied to them as well as ones for unlocking all the CGs and music tracks. (You can unlock the latter achievements by clicking on the Gallery and Tracks sections in the Extras area of the Main Menu.) In addition, you can replay already completed chapters by clicking on the Chapters section of the Main Menu. I liked how the story starts off, being narrated like a fairy tale about a witch who grants powers to a little girl and explains how those powers work. Afterwards, we meet Tyler and then Hilda and Leona soon afterwards, who all participate in a geohunt.

- Thats all, enjoy the game! Make sure to run the game as administrator and if you get any missing dll errors, look for a file named All In One Runtimes.exe run this and install it.
