As the network world expands and life becomes more convenient, however, network crime is raging. Main character Lan Hikari and his NetNavi, MegaMan.EXE, join forces to confront these incidents. So maybe I’m being a bit biased here with the rating lol. But imho, this has a better polished story, some of the chips and viruses are more balanced and the dungeons and puzzles are not as confusing and frustrating as the first game. Oh, and this is the version they introduced style change, which made battles in this game more fun, as each style has their own unique playstyle. I think the main thing that made me rate this higher than the 2nd game is the navi customizer program they introduced, which carried over until MMBN6.

With that navi customizer, you get more freedom on how you want to control your battles, and you can even have your unique playstyle with it. A long with new style changes like Shadow style, ground style and bug style, you get more fun out of all in this version compared to the older versions of this game. That’s fair since the later installments are mostly flavored version splits and not full-fledged games. Even so, it’s worth the price for what’s there. I would recommend Vol. 1 to all gamers but Vol. 2 to only fans of this particular series. 1-3 are the pinnacle and 4-6 are hit-and-miss. Also thanks to online features the games are able to shine even more than on the original hardware.
