The game presents a lot of different mechanics, character builds, looks. Due to the fact there are multiple characters (shells) to choose from, everyone will find something they like. Combat may seem a bit static but it’s slower paced and rewards more thoughtful approach to even basic enemies. What I really loved was that this whole thing was made by a small team. (Sadly this causes the world to be small in comparison to big game studio products) The atmosphere is awesome, characters are interesting and vague.
Mortal Shell Pre-Installed:
Only on sale would I recommend this game. It’s a souls-like and a decent game, but it has its issues. The combat is unique but clunky. There’s only 4 areas to explore, the main hub and 3 areas leading to the bosses. The main hub is kind of confusing, it all looks the same with the same enemies and it twists around a lot. There’s only 5(6 kind of) weapons in the game but they are all pretty unique to each other. And the Shells you wear are all unique with cool abilities. I beat the game in 7 hours and don’t plan on doing a NG+ run. So short play time.
