More dangers and hurdles to overcome such as food spoilage and even worse monsters More treasures and rewards to be found such as monstrous crafting materials and legendary items you can easily get your money’s worth as the game stands now, with plenty of interesting ideas for the game to be added in the future. Just be aware when purchasing, as with all EA games, that you will likely come across bugs at times and the need for tweaks and optimisations. It is hard to pick out what exactly that special thing is for the game but perhaps it is an amalgamation of the many parts, from the beautiful music, soundfx (slurping of soup to the chilly winter weather, bbrrrr), the wonderful animations of your dwarves, the curser light and how light interacts with objects, to the obvious thought and love that has gone into the smaller details, it makes for a very chilled and enjoyable game play.
Mountaincore Direct Play:
Even before the UI upgrade, addition of military and foes, the change from a standard production menus for workbenches to an import/export pallet system, trade (plus more changes) this game had a magical charm to it. These upgrades have added more to the game, for instance, I was sceptical about the change to import/export pallets for workshops, but on playing with them it has won me over, it may feel like it needs more micromanagement to begin with than the standard use of menus, but it soon can become a much smoother way to implement your production lines especially as your settlement grows and now feels like a more organic way to relay what you want to the game adding to the immersion.
