Necrosmith Direct Download
In a dark, dark tower a dark, dark Necromancer is performing a dark, dark ritual as dark, dark clouds swarm… Wait a second! What is a white cat doing here? Assemble the dead Skeletons, zombies, orcs, harpies, elementals, and even robots! Combine the body parts with the appropriate characteristics and attacks to find the perfect combination of survivability, speed, and combat power. Upgrade your tower Build necro labs to grow body parts and make techno-magic devices to upgrade your army of the dead. The basic gameplay loop is: scavenge body parts from map, frankenstein yourself a creature from random parts, send creature out to find more parts, or to capture buildings that produce resources. Simple enough. Oh, there’s enemy lairs that aren’t happy with you necromancing and will send waves to attack you. So some of your minions need to defeat the waves and destroy the lairs.
Not enough? Well you can build upgrades to your tower to give your minions global buffs. You get the blueprints from lairs. Oh, minions, you can only control one at a time directly, the rest follow very basic AI, so you have to be strategic in how you use them and who you control. It’s a bit like Majesty without the city-builder parts. You upgrade, You use skills, and the units automatically explore, keep distance from enemies based on the range of their weapons and progressively strip the map. The added roguelike elements which allow you to upgrade your skills and runs between games, keeps your interest up and encourages replays. Not sure how long this game is exactly since i have not yet gotten there, but for this price, its a must have. The dev could have easily charged 10 euros for this considering all the shait that is floating around out there. If you have an euro, do this dude a favor.
Necrosmith Pre-Installed:
This is a good game; not a great game. The gameplay loop is well done, and it’s pretty simple to pick the game up. Persistent upgrades feel impactful enough, and the resource acquisition doesn’t feel too bad either. The variety in parts and skills is also quite good, though I hesitate to call it excellent–some parts are truly just reskins, which is honestly fine–that’s to be expected. But plenty of others aren’t, which might mean that a skill you really like doesn’t get an obvious replacement, which can feel a bit bad when you need higher raw stats to push further. But still, overall, it’s well done in the core aspects of the game.
