This game was created as my version of a love letter to my partner. Follow the story of Ted as he navigates the abandoned town of Ruddleside amidst the post apocalypse, finding a solitary companion in Diego. Your choices determine whether Diego will bond with Ted and help him continue his search for surviving communities, or whether the pair will face difficulties and challenges that put them at odds with each other whilst trying to escape the horrors within Ruddleside. Explore Stylized 3D Environments: Navigate the atmospheric setting of Ruddleside. Solve Puzzles and Find Collectibles: Uncover the town’s mysteries through various puzzles and collectibles. Shape Ted’s Destiny: Make decisions that influence Ted’s personality and determine his fate. This was cute! Strange to say about something with gore and post-apocalyptic melancholy, but there you go. I’m gay, so I was pretty much predisposed to enjoy this. Sex Formula.
I liked the beginning vignette, which sets the grim expectations for this world and queues up a bunch of choices that will later come back to bite the protagonists. I was a bit disappointed with the ending I got, which happened to be the best one. These dang twinks didn’t kiss! I actually got confused and thought I’d steered myself onto a platonic path (or that Diego had gotten scared of deepening their relationship because of what Maggie said about Ted holding them up with a gun – I wish I’d had the option to tell her off for wanting to kill Ted first!), so I hurried onto Youtube to see what the other endings were. I was kinda bummed to see that the only ending where anything explicitly romantic happens is the one where Diego dies. I can appreciate a tragic ending, especially for a post-apocalyptic setting, but it felt a little too much like the “bury your gays” trope.

A very fun short horror esqe game 11/10. – please make a full length game out of this! there is plenty more story to tell hanging on cliffhangers!!! definition of short and sweet. you can finish a the game within about 30 minutes but with the multiple endings you’ll find yourself replaying the game so many times. you really feel for the characters and every choice leaves me weighing the pros and cons for a long while. recommend if you love story orientated games I liked the chemistry between the two lead characters (although I agree with some that the VA work for both was veering toward the “flat” side – I think it was mostly fine, however) and the dialogue all felt pretty good and naturalistic.
