Nunholy Steam Pre-Installed
Nunholy is an action-packed roguelike game where you explore dungeons and hunt down vampires as battle-hardened nuns. Each time you slay a vampire, you can absorb their power to grow stronger or sell it to upgrade your gear. Will you embrace the vampires’ dark power, or rely solely on human strength? The choice is yours. Vampires come in many forms and ranks—Knights, Barons, Counts, and Dukes—each stronger than the last. Hunt down the most powerful of them all and prove yourself as an S-rank hunter. Within the dungeons, you’ll encounter merchants, witches, prisoners, and undertakers—people who care little about who you are, as long as you can pay. Meet them, trade with them, and prepare for the hunt.
This game is a lot of fun and, as others will likely point out, a lot like Hades. Combat is excellent, and you can get various upgrades to your character throughout your run and back at base. I had more trouble with the standard enemies than I did with bosses though. The map variety was surprising as well. I was initially concerned that it may get old quite quickly, but I was pleasantly surprised. The art for the nuns was good, and it made me laugh a few times because of how over-the-top the outfits were. The overall design and art for the maps is really good, especially the base.

This is essentially a vampire-themed, stripped-down version of Hades, so I’ll compare it directly to that game. What I liked: They improved upon Hades’ room mechanics and meta-game. You can heal or spend blood as a resource. Multiple progression paths (items, skills, stats). Decent monster and boss designs (starting from Biome 3; the first two are bland with few enemies). Solid VFX. Upgrades provide noticeable boosts (10-30%), so unlocking new abilities or stats feels meaningful (unlike Curse of the Dead Gods). What I disliked (the game just launched, so these might get fixed): No real plot. Generic characters repeat the same lines. Zero reactivity to progress. No story beyond “you’re a half-vampire, go kill vampires.”
