Erect houses, castles, and all manner of medieval marvels with a touch of the finger–rewriting the pages of history as you see fit! Strategically place compatible buildings to make “combos,” boosting your Yield to become the best castle town in all the land This game is set in Edo Japan (1603-1868). Manage your own feudal domain by attracting residents and developing new crafts and buildings. Build Vacant Lots to attract new residents. Research new buildings and construct them on the map to increase your domain’s Yield. Yield is an overall indicator of a domain’s wealth. All buildings, people, and even crafts contribute to your total Yield. Getting More Residents Increase your domain’s total Yield to attract new residents. When you get a new resident, you will collect a fee based on their home’s Yield.
Fantastic little game and I played it through in one night because I couldn’t bear to stop playing. I really enjoyed the plant collection and identification game play. The puzzles feel well crafted to where they are not immediately obvious but not too hard either making solving them feel very rewarding. Furthermore, there is an openness to the game regarding the story as depending on the choices you make there are different endings. However, the game is relatively short which is fine, but something one should be aware of (I really wish it was longer but that’s not a real criticism).
Oh Edo Towns Direct Download:
While there is some theoretical replay value as there are different endings, considering I have solved all the puzzles already and found all the plants (which is the core of the game play) I do not really feel like going back to replay it. To me it would be like putting together a puzzle, breaking it, and immediately reassembling it to make a slightly different picture. A short and linear game, perfect for a rainy afternoon. Lots of peering closely at tiny details and taking leaps of faith/educated guesses. The occult mystery story is ok, I am looking forqard to taking one of the few turns where you can make a choice that leads to a different ending (I don’t know for sure, but based on this playthrough I’m going to guess 4-5 possible
