Evil has come to your world. Your party of adventurers has been tasked with discovering the source of this evil and vanquishing it from these lands. You will need to create a group of four characters to explore and discover caves and dungeons that hold secrets and treasure. Solve various dungeon puzzles and vanquish your enemies in classic turn-based combat. 14 Classes to choose from including Barbarian, Dark Knight, Fighter, Paladin, Elementalist, Mage, Necromancer, Warlock, Cleric, Druid, Mystic, Bard, Ranger, and Rogue 13 Races to choose from including Dwarf, Elf, Gnome, Goblin, Grimace, Half-Elf, Halfling, Half-Orc, Human, Kobold, Lizardman, Minotaur, and Orc Select unique portraits for each character Choose from 18 voices / personalities Specialize characters with attribute points gained from leveling up. These may be spent on Strength, Intelligence, Focus, Dexterity, Quickness, Constitution, Charisma and Luck Gain skill points from leveling.
These may be spent to upgrade specific class skills such as Blocking, Close Combat, Divine Magic, Fire Magic, Lock Picking, Meditation and many more. Each class has its own skills that are upgradable. Over 20 dungeon levels with increasing sizes and complexity Avoid deadly traps and solve a variety of dungeon puzzles Game runs smooth on ultra settings; there was a dungeon that started lagging but smoothed out after killing some enemies. The audio/video settings seem kinda sparse for the granular level details. Gameplay is very logical and strategic except the wolves that seem kinda overpowered currently. There is some comical bugs still like the engine doesn’t recognize the velocity while running and jumping, and another where the hotbar items cant be offloaded, but solid game nonetheless.
Old School RPG Direct Play:
I do not review games often, but I will offer my insight here. This is exactly what it claims to be. No flair, no fluff, this is an Old-School-RPG with one exception. The RPGs of yesteryear were the way they were because it was all about the story/fantasy and frankly the graphics plain sucked. This game looks very good for what it is. I got it day one, and have explored some of the first island area. Completed some combat. So here is my first impression: Combat is TURN BASED- if that is your style, it is very cool how you cycle through your party but remain in 1st person. Graphics are phenomenal for a small idie company with a true RPG. Game seems to run smooth on highest settings. I had one hard crash that was my fault- I was on another screen doing some heavy RAM tasking…and the game did not like that. lol You can tell the dialogue is written by someone who has played these type of games. Very nice story pieces so far.
