Will the wee creature get through the dark spaces to find that it is darkness that makes light really shine? This is an extraordinary experience. The only thing kind of similar that comes to mind is Journey, although the “vibe” is more aquatic like Abzu. This games graphics and music make you feel like you are on a very relaxing psychedelic trip. I haven’t finished it yet, after playing for 2.5 hours, so I guess it is quite long for such an experience. Onde is an exceptionally beautiful atmospheric puzzle game that has a great soundtrack. It has Gris vibes to it in its aesthetic, though is quite a different game in its gameplay. There were some puzzles that had me stuck for a bit and required trying numerous techniques to solve them, but overall the game was relaxing and chill.
Onde Pre-Installed:
The soundtrack pairs excellently with the gameplay, often amplifying certain moves and making it feel satisfying as you work your way through the game. But not just the artistic side of the game is absolutely wonderful, the gameplay elements are introduced in such an organic and well paced manner that the whole experience just never ceases to further amaze. While I’d have a few nitpicks, such as a confusing decision of pacing before the end as well as something like a boss fight out of nowhere, this did not overshadow my overall incredibly positive impression of this game. I am really surprised that even in my indie-bubble, I did not hear anybody talking about it
