The Queen of the Old World calls upon you! As Her Majesty’s domain expands, we require a capable administrator to guide Her latest colonies to prosperity. We will provide you with ships, colonists, and other tools necessary to tame these wild, virgin lands, and turn them into a prosperous colonial enterprise, all under the Queen’s watchful eye. Naturally, the Crown will expect you to share the bounty of these new lands, pay your taxes on time, and continue expanding the boundaries of Her Majesty’s colonial possessions. Obedience may earn you rewards,but refusing to pay your dues or worse, declaring independence, will have dire consequences. Set sail for the New World to plant Her flag and establish a new colony – as well as ensuring it thrives. This game is a fun little city builder. People seem to be comparing it to settlers, but it’s not nearly as complex as the classic ones. Supply chains tend to be pretty short. The complexity comes around shipping products between islands. It almost feels a bit like tropico or something, but with cartoon graphics. The beginning is more fleshed out than the later tiers. The game becomes a little sparse later on, and some more of the complex setups are repetitive and a little painful to execute. A fun island resource manage colony sim game with a neat Prison architect style to it. It’s fun to set up supply chains between your islands and the tech tree is neat if a bit small. Tentative thumbs up because the game could use a bit more polish. Villagers and haulers only pick up one thing at a time, so you need a swarm to pick up stacks of two/three items that drop from a tile at a time from large fields etc, but if they’re organized in chests they’ll carry a lot from one place to another that way. Not a lot of techs, just takes a long time to get them up and running because of the amount of resources required to research them and how it can be difficult to produce enough on one island to satisfy the needs of multiple islands and still have enough to research.
