More than meets the eyes, although what they meet is a wonderful exploration of nature, weather, time, seasons and their many many colours. Movement mechanics are enjoyable and if you’re well practiced you can get around really quickly. A lot of toy-like interactions make the whole marsh feel as interactive as possible. The writing is funny and witty, and manages to ask compelling questions about where you are and the net you were given. There’s surprisingly a lot of introspection to be had while playing this game. The soundscape is complex and gives hints to where you should go next. Highly recommended! This game just released, and it is a beautiful gem. I would love to see multiplayer added into this game, it is an amazing journey solo but I feel like it would also be fun with a special friend or two. I would recommend this as a stress reliever as well, the pixel graphics are what make it cute and cozy. There are a lot of random objects, but that’s what makes it fun! Love all the different biomes, colors, seasons, and interactive items (especially the snowmen). The critters top it off, they all give you a piece of their own advice, and the poetry tied into this game is wonderful. Very symbolic.

Adorable critter hunting game in the same vein as things like Alba: A Wildlife Adventure, but feels completely void of a story aspect. You’ll get lost in the marsh for a few hours trying to outsmart bugs and frogs and catch them, but without much of an intro you might feel like you’re missing …something. A reason to keep going after that beetle escapes you for the 5th time and you know you won’t see it until next the next morning. The achievements are cute, the musical instruments are a nice touch but it would’ve been great if they did something. Like each instrument unlocked or tamed something, because when you first find one you’ll probably be searching around for something to interact with. Definitely adorable, and the characters you meet along the way can be great calm, heartwarming, silly, fun, and philosophical, Paradise Marsh is a bug-catching simulator and an introspective exploration into what might lie beyond. It’s a short play- around two to three hours for most, but you can spend as long as you like wandering and fiddling with the various interactable objects scattered around the different areas. With lovely poetry and great dialogue from the stars, this game is a well-written must play for any cozy gamer.
