Patty Pepperton in a Pumpkin Patch is a third person, horror game where you are trapped inside a haunting pumpkin patch looking for a way out. The objective is simple collect all the golden pumpkins to summon not only a way home but the Pumpkin god himself. Escape and just maybe you can have your revenge on Caitlyn, your roommate who traded you for a new car. Run around looking for golden pumpkins while dodging danger and learning the lore of the place. I just finished playing this game and honestly, I really enjoyed it! I wished there was a little more strategy to finding the pumpkins or a map or navigation icon. It’s easy to get lost. I also wished the enemies were a bit scarier and quicker. I think they should chase you for longer or impact you more as a player. I played on Medium level difficulty so the game was dark. I think there needs to be a brightness slider just in case players are recording and have a ring light in their face (it makes the screen super.
The gameplay evolves continually. What starts as stealth and evasion shifts seamlessly into environmental puzzles, from tossing cans to operating meat grinders. Later stages emphasize speed over stealth, ensuring you’re always on edge. In this eerie puzzle-platformer, you play as a little girl named Six, navigating a nightmarish world with only a flickering lighter to guide you. The game’s dreamlike logic constantly shifts your surroundings, leaving you feeling disoriented but captivated. As the name of the game implies, this is a simulator that explores various facts of being a basic street level thief. There’s a story about how you angered some mafia and owe them a half-million in cash. Obviously you won’t be earning that kind of dosh right out of the gate but it gives a GTA5-esque framework as to why you are continuing your life of crime. Again, this is just a framework for what generally becomes a stealth sandbox.

You start by just breaking into some houses and casing houses to grab tenant’s schedules and eventually graduate to literal grand theft auto and full blown heists. The heists don’t really work like in other games but mostly serve as a separate “area” like its own neighborhood, but the difference is you are always trespassing and can’t save. I’ve only experienced the first one so far but the Freeform mode revealed that there’s at least three locations for heists, and it’s a great framework to add more in the future. I honestly wish the time went by much slower, perhaps a possible update to the Easy setting later down the line. (Keep the current speed on Normal and Hard). Sometimes there’s a two hour window when a tenant is out of the house and it somehow takes an entire twenty minutes for me to just sprint across the street to get to their windows. That doesn’t make much sense to me.
