For the record, Mob has created something cool that’s worth playing and while I do recommend checking this chapter out eventually, I would NOT suggest buying in its current state. I got about two hours in before encountering a gamebreaking crash that kept occurring even after reloading previous saves and trying to work back up to that point. It’s a shame because I was enjoying it while things were working, but based on my experience and that of others it really seems like this chapter needed more time in the oven leading up to release to ensure a stable experience. I get that they didn’t want to delay it, but if it’s between releasing a game riddled with bugs and making us wait a little longer for a finished product that runs properly, I’d rather they’d have taken the latter route.
Poppy Playtime – Chapter 4 Direct-Play:
The lights during one of the gear puzzles inexplicably shifted between normal and impossibly bright. I kept wondering when Yarnaby was going to show up, only to find out later that he’d never spawned in properly for me. Those who did fight him found his AI to be a nasty piece of work to avoid. The game ran fairly consistently on “epic” graphical settings, only to slow to an absolute crawl during the final boss chase. While I did experience some bugs in my playthrough and this chapter was not as scary as Chapter 3, I think the story told in this one is worth it. Loved the story that was presented in this one.
