Project Lazarus Direct Download
Introducing Project Lazarus, an exhilarating reverse bullet hell experience combined with mech survival and rogue-lite elements! Brace yourself as you take on hordes of alien monsters, using your strategic prowess to snowball your mech’s arsenal and emerge victorious. Collect valuable items and crystals to level up, allowing you to install and upgrade your mech, ensuring you establish absolute fire superiority. With each mech boasting unique control schemes and weapon installation slots, your choices will determine both your success in the environment and your preferred style of gameplay. Prepare for an adrenaline-fueled adventure as you deploy your mech onto the unforgiving terrain of an alien planet, where only the most resilient will survive the treacherous drop! Prepare to engage in Project Lazarus, where a diverse array of mechs awaits your command. Each mech in this thrilling adventure possesses a distinct control scheme, a range of passive abilities, and customizable weapon slot combinations.
Select the mech that aligns perfectly with your preferred style of gameplay, ensuring a personalized experience like no other. The power to shape your destiny awaits as you embark on this remarkable journey. The biggest flaw is it feels very unbalanced. You can go from having to try find some monsters at all in a seemingly deserted level, to immediately being overwhelmed with no chance to survive. The monsters also scale weird, a very weak wave can appear after a ridiculously hard one for example. The weapons also needs some major rebalancing work. I feel the people behind the game are pretty good at coding and graphics, but are nowhere near VS when it comes to game design. It feels a bit like a skin to a half baked VS clone, without any new ideas, and the old ideas implemented poorly or not as well as VA.
Project Lazarus Pre-Installed:
Some game design choices are very amateurish, like how one Mech need you to aim backwards to shoot forward. This is like the number one rule in game development, do not make it hard to control your character. Generally speaking the game is hard to play with mouse and keyboard, and needlessly so. Seems to be only playtested with a game controller. Using a mouse is frustrating as when the going gets tough it is hard to see the cursor. And as most of the weapons need you to aim them, it gets annoying and it is easy to die unfair deaths because you simply cannot get the Mech to do what you want in the chaos.
