About The Game
Manage a tailor shop and corpse-cooking business in a city where crime, corruption and poverty are commonplace. Percival and Hildred have just moved here with nothing but a dream: to get extremely rich. Take control of Percival to manage the tailor shop, wait for the arrival of clients looking for new suits and dresses, kill them when the moment is right, and throw them down the trap door, leading to the kitchen. Not before stealing their outfits however, their materials ready to be made into brand new clothes: waste not, want not! Take care of Hildred’s pub and customers. Feed them delightful corpse-based meals, manage resources effectively and make sure not to run out of ingredients.
So after spending about 5.5 Hours playing through the whole game and maxing the reputation, I can easily say this game was something very unique and special in a lot of ways. The atmosphere was dark unsurprisingly, but there is some wholesomeness behind the these characters. Their love for each other as well as an unexpected reoccurring interaction with a character that at first makes you filled with dread only to end up on a pretty wholesome scene. This game was so good I sat down for about 5 straight hours to beat it without any breaks. I hope to see more by this developer. Killing annoying customers has always been my secret dream, but I never found an effective way to dispose of the bodies. The main characters of this game are much more clever than me and with a great business acumen: let’s turn the bodies into delicious meatpies, serve them to other annoying customers and make money out of it! That’s pure genius, and it resonates with another hobby I never dared to pick up: cannibalism!
If you are like me and don’t want to end up in prison, Ravenous Devils allows you to do all of the above safely and having lots of fun in the process! I had played the demo of this already and was looking forward to play more. At this price is a no-brainer. I’ll also buy 10 extra copies for my vegan friends. I’d like to start the review by saying for 4$ this game is good. If they were charging 10+ it would not be worth it. Kind of a one trick pony with unlocks. Gets pretty repetitive eventually. Perhaps a little too macabre without being outlandish? Some scenes are pretty dark, just be warned. The game loop you start with is the game loop you end with. Basically run a few tasks over and over again to finish the board and make money. Usually with different But seriously a somewhat short 5 hours with limited replay value was actually a great time with a good but dark story, fast paced mechanics at the end trying to keep the kitchen,,garden and tailor shop running.
