You don’t work in a regular assembly line. Will you unravel the truth? Regular Factory is an escape room that will test your skills. Solve puzzles, decode secret codes, find hidden objects, and investigate the different rooms of the secret factory where you work while you discover the dark truth. Solve this mystery by exploring each of the rooms in which this adventure takes place. Will you be able to escape? I have a soft spot for Escape the Room games and I especially appreciate clever puzzles that make me think. Thus, I’ve enjoyed playing the three previous titles by mc2games and was delighted to see that Regular Factory (“where what we make is none of your business!”) had been released. You play from the first person perspective of a maintenance worker in a factory and your goal is to move through each section of the building, activating equipment and discovering access cards to enter new areas. Each part of the factory has a theme that ties into a loosely coupled back-story.
While this new title is perhaps their easiest and shortest title to date, it is still fun to play and continues the mc2games tradition of diverse puzzles with conceptual clues. The look and feel of the game and the basic mechanics are much the same as their previous titles. As you discover documents with clues, they must be read ‘in place’ and are not available to take with you for later reference. A hint system is provided for those who get stuck. Kudos to the development team for designing hints that nudge the player towards a solution but do not reveal specifics. While all puzzles are visible, some are initially blocked due to dependencies on other puzzles. With one exception in the final area (the ‘tetris’ puzzle), you should be able to solve any accessible puzzle with the information at hand. I recommend this title to those who enjoy the Escape the Room genre and are seeking a moderate level of challenge.

Add in a bit of a story with a plot twist at the end, and you have an interesting way to spend a few hours. Just, wow, amazing game with perfect balance for difficulty in puzzles, great story line, I have been waiting for this game to come out since it was anounced, and I can definitely say, I enjoyed Regular Factory. While I don’t think this game will appeal as much to enthusiasts looking for a challenge, it’s a solid game that will put your observational skills to the test. he plot is simple, for the genre is quite traditional. And here a strange feeling immediately arises, because if the setting of the factory is quite interesting for itself, all these mechanisms are asked to start themselves, having solved the next riddle, then going deeper into the laboratory, interest in the environment subsides.
