After your first playthrough, carry over your progress into new game plus and spend an eternity raising hell in the Underworld. It’s the almost the same as the 360 version I still own to this very day, with zero PC options added. Didn’t assume it’d be getting much with it’s budget pricing, but I’m personally okay with that. So most folks expecting an actual PC port are going to be very disappointed. Thankfully it’s still the dumb, funny, clunky-beautiful game it always has been. Would still recommend it to anyone with a puerile sense of humor that also enjoys movies like Evil Dead 2 and Dead Alive. Alright, let’s get the important stuff out of the way first. The remaster could be better. There are no video options beyond brightness, and the keyboard and mouse controls are only rebindable with a utility you have to use before you launch the game, though mouse sensitivity and camera speed can be changed at any time.

I get that this is using very old tech and probably a nightmare to reverse engineer for modern standards a decade after the fact, but it is disappointing. All that being said, I am very, very happy to get to be able to play this again without having to dig out my Xbox 360. This game was envisioned as a radically different project, but Shadows of the Damned remains charmingly absurd in spite of EA games demanding an overwhelming amount of change during production. Is it a must play? No, but its a Suda 51 game. That means at the very least, it’s you’re going to have a weird and memorable time one way or the other.
