Are you ready for a fast-paced racing and dogfighting video game experience? In Sky Fury, you pilot a plane or ship and must compete against other players in intense races and fierce aerial combat in the spirit of Mario Kart. With its varied graphics, intuitive controls and captivating gameplay, you will feel the adrenaline of action and racing against time. A total of 23 tracks, including 11 reversed versions and a track with random obstacles that bounce off the walls. Alternative paths. 11 increasingly difficult championships. 10 airplanes and ships. Dogfight system with 5 weapons (machine gun, missiles, mines, shield and repair). Reach high speeds with the booster button. 3 difficulty levels. 25 adrenaline-charged music. 3 gameplay modes: Championship, Arcade and Time Trial. Can be played with mouse and keyboard or gamepads. Solo and Versus modes with split-screen for two players.
The AI doesn’t race in lines or a style with any awareness of the damage system. Sure it adds a layer of difficulty as you’re the only one out there trying to avoid contact, but it didn’t make the game more fun avoiding that contact. It’s just you racing different. Definitely not a different that is more “real”. Just different. The menus are still bulbous and beyond ugly. And the game overall lacks any inherent style of its own. It’s just… Blah. I think I used the words ‘mobile’, ‘Flash’, and ‘stock’ a lot in my review of the first and they’re all applicable here. A unique style would’ve gone a long way. Even something like GeneRally has a unique look that is its own despite the simplicity.
Sky Fury Pre-Installed:
Apologies as I don’t know why I harp so hard on that point, but it is what it is. It stands out. I guess my main point is that not much has really changed in the game overall. Things got added, but nothing changed. Which isn’t only bad. There was plenty of good in the first game! new upgrades, and solid gameplay. And it adds my favorite Hot Wheels model of all time, the Splittin’ Image II. That alone was a deal maker for me. I had hoped some of the new features the sequel brought, especially damage, would alleviate some of these shortcomings and make for a significant step forward. So far, no.
