In Sliding Bears, you guide adorable bear cubs as they make their way across a treacherous ice floe.
Your objective? Help every cub reach the other side’s safety. But the road is far from easy! The actual ice floe is constructed from movable and interchangeable tiles. You can make a path for the cubs to waddle across by carefully moving these tiles. There’s more enjoyment to be had! You’ll face a variety of obstacles, depending on the level of difficulty you select. The racing is arcade based and there are lots of things happening that you wouldn’t see in a sim. Collisions are quite forgiving and cutting corners doesn’t penalize you too much apart from slowing your car down if you veer off too much. Your car does sustain damage but it takes quite a battering before it starts effecting your drive. If you crash into walls on tight circuits or hit too many opponents you risk the danger of tire blowouts, gearbox malfunctions, and brake failure.

All of these things can be repaired in a pit stop, but obviously the pit stop will take longer. There are perks which you gain from winning cups in challenge races, like beating a challenging lap time, winning an elimination race, racing around the circuit in reverse order, and racing through checkpoints before the time runs out. If you do well in these you receive cups, and when you have enough cups, a perk is unlocked which you have a choice of two. Placing your perk in a slot can give you a nice advantage, but you’ll soon find that you have more perks than slots, so will have to decide which perks suite your driving style, or whether you want other perks, like benefiting the team. There are a lot of perks that give you an advantage in lots of areas, including faster pit stops, earning more money, getting the option to restart a GP, keeping your team happy, or generally making your car faster or handle better.
