It’s environment and visuals are beautiful, great player models, and immersive game play. It also feel like I’m driving a big tank (which I am, so not really complaining too much).
Down side; fighting off wave after wave of blitzing aliens made me feel stressed, exhausted, and worn out. I couldn’t play it for more than half a level at a time. Yet even though playing the game often felt laborsome, I kept wanting to go back to it. I had to play this game in small chunks. Complete a mission, go play another game, come back to this one another day. If you like Warhammer 40k and need another fix, or if you’re new to it and are curious about it’s universe, this is a good choice A very solid FPS-adaptation of the turn-based strategy franchise. It is a dangerous transition to make given the premise, but passably done for a small studio with limited budget. The atmosphere, graphics, gameplay, and environments are all great and fit well with the 40k lore, and the weapons and equipment system is simple to a flaw. The 9 single-player missions (with 7 actual maps) are well structured and give the same claustrophobic feel of the original concept. The soundscape and voice acting are also passable if cliché and there are a few fantastic room designs that would work great in a multiplayer free-for-all.
