To get in the game, simply set up your device so that the built-in camera or webcam is pointed towards you and can see your upper body. Get started today on the device you already have with you. No headsets, goggles, or controllers required. Just play and move your body to the music. I can now play Starri with my daughter in the 2P mode, with a much bigger screen. I can also play in my room more easily without setting up a phone stand for the phone version. All you need is a simple 10 bucks webcam, a not-too-potato PC, a desk, and a pair of 15 bucks speakers that can emit sounds — which pretty much everybody has. Heck, even if you don’t have a webcam, you can use your phone as a webcam (or play Starri mobile if that’s what you prefer!). Although I’m less recommending the Mobile version because when I played it in my IPhone XR, my phone heats up very quickly after 3 tracks.

Was a little skeptical it’ll work with just a webcam, but it’s actually pretty fun. I feel self conscious playing in the arcade with other people so it’s nice you can play a motion rhythm game even at home. VR is more immersive but with Starri it’s easier to just start playing when you feel like it. You’re just moving your body without needing to wear anything so it feels quite natural. I can see myself using this to work out cos I was already sweating a lot after just playing for around 30 minutes. The body detection stuff works better than I thought. When the room is dark or if I stand in a weird angle it can be buggy sometimes, but I was able to set it up where it’s actually accurate when the camera sees me clearly. Just make sure you have enough space to move.
