About The Game
Super Robot Wars V the fifth anniversary game, timed to coincide with the 25th anniversary of the franchise. Hop in the huge mech to battle a wide variety of enemies! The plot will fully reveal the legend of the giants of steel, combining the history of all 26 animated series! In addition to the story campaign, 20 more separate scenarios are available that tell the stories of different heroes. The gameplay is a tactical role-playing game, where each episode starts with a dialogue between the characters, after which you need to clear a vast location, completing a variety of assignments and tasks. Some levels may contain additional quests or change the task during the passage of missions. On the battlefield, you control a small squad of combat robots, which you can give orders with the help of special commands: movement, attack, formation of squads, the use of “Spiritual commands” and magic attack, unique for each individual unit.
Mechanics such as Extra Order and Extra Action give you an edge in combat. So, for example, EA points make it possible to carry out an enhanced attack, and EO raises the morale of allied units. As usual, you are in it for some world-saving here in Super Robot Wars V. If you are familiar with Gundam-themed anime shows, you would be seeing familiar designs and elements in the game. No worries, though, if you have not watched any of those yet, because as mentioned above, the game has its own compelling storyline to keep you occupied. With that said, the plot begins with the introduction of several worlds and spacecraft, as well as characters who will join you on your adventure.
Some scenarios are longer, with multi-part missions or have new objectives added as the story unfolds. On battlefield, the player and enemy take turns to order their units with commands available, such as movement, attacking, forming squads and casting “Spirit Commands”, a set of magic-like spells unique to each pilot. Once the scenario is cleared, more dialogue is exchanged between characters before the player is taken to an intermission menu. Here, units can be upgraded or optional parts installed.
